Celebration of Rotary
President Joan Thomson cuts the 25th Birthday Cake representing 25 years since Thornleigh Club was granted its Charter as a Club by R.I. The event was held on May 10, 2006 at our normal meeting venue. The function was attended by past Members and present Members and their partners, 9680 District Governor Greg Muldoon and Assistant Governor  Keith Carson and their partners.   Amid the festivities and reunions with past Members a highlight of the evening was the awarding of a Paul Harris Fellow to V. Lee Furlong our Clubs long term Secretary. This came as total surprise to Lee and he was unusually lost for words on the night. During the evening President elect Ray Brown (top left pix) also took the opportunity to outline his plans for his year beginning in July.

We have had a busy year with our annual Christmas Carols in December, a Thornleigh Business networking meeting in March and the nostalgic 3801 steam train excursion to Newcastle in June.  We also welcome 2 new Members to the Club this June, Aidan Mullan and Col. Allan Piercy
