About Rotary Club of Thornleigh - Promoting Membership
Every Rotary Club of Thornleigh meeting is a promotional meeting aimed at gaining new members and would like to offer any reader of this website who lives in this region the opportunity to learn a little more about modern advances within Rotary International. You will have the opportunity of experiencing a typical evening of Rotary fellowship, complemented with an excellent guest speaker. Both men and women are invited to become members.
Rotary is a service organisation of business and professional leaders united world wide who conduct humanitarian projects, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, work toward world understanding and peace - and encourage fun and fellowship in local communities around the world.
It is important to emphasise that Rotary is a non religious, non political, non sectarian organisation.
During the past 26 years, the Rotary Club of Thornleigh has made a real contribution to the quality of life in our wonderful little corner of the world. Our programs have provided exceptional opportunities for youth leaders and young people in general - along with the aged and handicapped; we have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to a myriad of vital community organisations and charities; we have worked hard to lift vocational standards and business ethics within our business sector; and we've taken part in many significant international projects.
And it's important to acknowledge that we have achieved all of the above without intrusion into the family and social lives of our members. It is generally agreed that we all serve in our own way.
There is now a very strong emphasis on family involvement in Rotary, and the benefits of membership are numerous - an enlarged circle of new friends, social outings, personal development, business networking opportunities, increased community awareness and pride to mention just a few.
Busy people are often wary of new commitments but Rotary is different!
Our weekly, one and one half hour dinner meetings are on Wednesday evenings at the Eastern City Restaurant - meeting up from 6:15 p.m. for a 6:45 p.m. start until 8:15 p.m. The Eastern City Restaurant, is upstairs at #3 Hillcrest Road, Pennant Hills 2120 (off Yarrara Road) . Fun and fellowship coupled with community service opportunities and an interesting guest speaker provides a welcome relief from the daily pressures of business. Our new members all agree that within a very short time, they really look forward to the weekly gathering. We look forward to meeting you soon.
Yours sincerely
Aidan Mullen, President
